Squidward’s bold and brash art

Bold and brash, more like it belongs in the trash! That’s exactly what the art critic told Squidward Tentacles from the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants in season 2 episode 38. Poor Squidward, it always seems that he gets the shorter end of the stick, yet we love him and most fans adores he’s humor in SpongeBob. See the video below:

Video summary

In this episode titled “Artist Unknown” from SpongeBob SquarePants Squidward tries his best to create a beautiful piece of art, but with utter amazement his bold and brash art creation is called trash and dropped in the garbage bin by the janitor. After getting bashed mentally by the art critic the janitor comes by and says: “Sorry I must have missed that one” and drops the painting in the trash. SpongeBob SquarePants has gathered a worldwide audience reaching in the millions from the obvious kinder gardener to even young adults. As a result many people have come to love Squidward. Maybe a lot of people can related to Squidward – that’s why they like him so.

His old bold and brash art has created a weird following and complete fan status online and one can say even has some virality (something that can or has gone viral in the past) to it. As a tribute fans have designed t-shirts, posters, paintings, prints and even phone cases with bold and brash art and their own special touch. Here are some of the best designs and products I could find around the internet: Shirts and clothing

Old Bold and brash poster

I have to say, adding a Spongebob themed Squidward original poster to a kid’s bedroom or even somewhere in your home as a “different” kind of modern art would be pretty amazing. Luckily some designers from Etsy have already thought of that and created some paintings / prints / canvases (or whatever you’d like to call it) that you can purchase for very little money.

Here’s one from Etsy. See the listing by clicking here.
